Lauchlin Tench Waldoch devotes her time exclusively to elder law and related issues. Her practice includes wills, trusts, probate,
and incapacity planning, including powers of attorney,
advance directives for health care such as living wills and health care surrogate designations.
A substantial part of her practice also involves assisting individuals in qualifying for public assistance (specifically long term care),
the preparation and administration of special needs trusts and estate planning for individuals with disabilities and their families.
She is board certified by the Florida Bar in Elder Law and has been designated a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National
Elder Law Foundation. As former chair of the Public Policy Task Force of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorney's (AFELA)
and the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, she works with legislative and regulatory issues affecting seniors and persons with
disabilities. Lauchlin received Member of the Year in 1999 and 2005 for the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar and for AFELA in 2001
and 2005. She is also active in numerous national, state and community organizations related to the elderly and individuals with
disabilities.
Jana McConnaughhay is an elder law attorney, Board Certified by the Florida Bar,
practicing in the areas of estate planning, probate, and planning for and responding to issues
arising from incapacity and aging. She is a Tallahassee native, who received a B.A. in Accounting,
with honors, from Furman University and her J.D. from the Vanderbilt University School of Law.
Currently Ms. McConnaughhay serves as chair of the Board of Directors of the Office of the Public
Guardian, and as an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar
(Secretary, 2009-2010; Treasurer, 2008 - 2009; Chair, Medicaid Committee, 2005 - 2009; Chair, Website
Committee, 2006 - 2008) and the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (Elder Law Section Liason).
She has been appointed to Premier Bank's Community Board, State of Florida CFO Alex Sink's
Safeguard Our Seniors Task Force, and the Senior Advisory Board for the Leon County Board of
County Commissioners. In 2007 Ms. McConnaughhay was selected as Member of the Year by the Elder
Law Section of the Florida Bar, and in 2006 was named Guardian Angel by the Office of the Public Guardian.
She is a frequent speaker on a national, state and local basis on all issues related to elder law.
